Our first ever Smart Spot explains why you need a content strategy in place.
Starting a content plan without first developing your strategy would be like heading out on a road trip without knowing your destination or how you plan to get there. It’s truly not a good idea.
This week, we're introducing our new video series, Smart Spots! Above you'll see a brief video of me sharing more about this topic. I'm also listing the steps needed to create your content strategy and a few tips on how to use them.
Decide what you are trying to accomplish with your campaign. Is your goal to educate prospects, or build brand awareness of your product or company?
Research where your target audience gathers their information. Some folks are easy to reach on Linked In while others may love Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Determine what content you have available to use and what needs to be created. Know what the content is called, what it’s about and where to find it. Use analytics to determine which content types performs best with your audience.
Once your content is published, you’ll need to use a marketing automation tool to promote the content and nurture leads while they are going through their buyer’s journey.
Use different types of content options like eBooks, case studies and infographics to see which type is best to convey your message at different stages of your buyer’s journey. You can also use video or podcasts for your audience who prefers not to read.
